Member Profile Information
During the registration process the user is requested to fill in
a form, which contains some profile information about the user. Also,
the user is able to subscribe to any of several newsletters, articles,
events, news updates, special offers, etc. The member profile information
includes, the following information:
Name, address, phone #, fax #, email address, climasource
subscription information and occupation
You are not required to enter your street address, phone or fax numbers
during the registration process.
Only climasource administration personnel will use the information
collected. This information will be used for the purpose of communicating
with members through occasional e-mailings, etc. Occasionally, climasource
administration personnel may wish to view compiled statistics solely
for the purpose of improving the service to all members. climasource
will not distribute user profile information to any individual or
organization. If you have any concerns about your privacy while on
the climasource network, please email us at admin@climasource.com.
Viewing/
Editing Your Member Profile Information
You may view your profile information
by clicking the Your
Account link and then clicking
view
profile. To update your member
profile information, click Your
Account then click edit
profile.
The Your Account
link is displayed in the top header
of all climasource pages.
Cookies
climasource may set and use cookies on
your computer. This enables the site to remember who you are
each time you return. Cookies must be enabled in your browser in order
for us to retrieve the information within the cookie. By placing an
identification code within the cookie file, climasource can simply
read the identification code when you return to the site.
The only function that the cookie serves
is to enable the Remember
me feature on the login page. You
can disable this feature on the login page. When this feature is disabled,
a cookie will not be stored on your drive. If cookies are disabled
in your browser, you will be required to enter your email address
and password each time to return to the site.
Subscription Email
Climasource has a number of newsletters,
educational articles, industry event notifications, news updates,
special offers, etc that you may subscribe to. To view the items that
your are currently subscribed to, visit the Subscriptions
area. If you choose not to subscribe to any of these items, the only
mail you will receive from climasource, is information that is considered
to be important to all members.
Special Email Offers
When subscribed to special offers, members may receive special
offers along with other information from companies within or outside
of the heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR)
industry. All special offers will be emailed to you directly from
climasource. By doing this, climasource gives you full control over
what email you will receive.
Subscribing and Unsubscribing
If you prefer not to have certain information
sent to you, you may simply unsubscribe from any or all email items
and simply visit the climasource home page on a regular basis to retrieve
the information manually. You may subscribe or unsubscribe from a
particular item at any time by visiting the Subscriptions
area.
Discussion Forums
The purpose of the discussion forum section is to stimulate online
user discussion between members of the climasource community.
It is essential that all members fully
read, understand, and abide by all content as outlined within the
Terms of Service
agreement
before participating in a discussion
forum.
The discussion forum area is offered
to members free of charge. climasource and/or climasource staff
can not be held responsible for information that is sent between users
participating in a climasource discussion forum. However, if it comes
to the attention of climasource personnel that inappropriate discussion
is taking place, or that one member is harassing another member, the
offending member may lose all membership privileges. If you encounter
this type of problem while visiting climasource, please contact climasource
administration at admin@climasource.com.
Your Password
Keeping Your Password
Confidential
Your password is your key to the large information resource, tools
and utilities that the climasource network provides. Please keep your
password confidential. Revealing your password may result in the possibility
of other users accessing your member profile information, altering
your subscriptions, or perhaps using your information to participate
in inappropriate discussion within the discussion forums area. climasource
staff members will never ask you for your password over the phone,
via email or while on line!
What to do when you
forget your password
If you have forgotten your password,
please click the I
forgot my password link on the
login page to have it emailed to you.
Changing your Password
If you wish to change your password,
you may do so by clicking Your
Account, and then Change
Your Password.
ChargeGateway
There are some services within the climasource
web site, which are available to members for a fee. For example, tokens
may be purchased and applied against these services. Note: tokens
may be purchased by clicking Your
Account and then clicking Buy
Tokens.
When purchasing token, you have the option of paying by cheque or
credit card. Credit card payments are handled using Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) at www.ChargeGateway.com where the payment is then
processed.
Logging In and Logging Out
Each time you visit climasource, you
will need to click the login
link. When the login page appears, you will be prompted to enter your
email address and password. You will need to do this each time you
return to the climasource unless the ‘remember password’ box is checked.
The ‘Remember Password’
Checkbox
When the "Remember Password"
box is checked on the login screen, your email address and password
information will automatically appear on the login screen each time
you return to the site. This made possible through the use of cookies.
Please note that when you use this login method, others who use the
same computer will have access to your member profile information,
password, subscription information, etc. Therefore, it is important
that you log off after each session.
If you fail to log out before leaving climasource, you will be automatically
logged in when you return. Note: We recommend that you do not use
this login method if others are able to use the same computer.
